Ben’s love of craft beer first began in 2007. After serving in the Marine Corps and returning to his hometown he took an entry level position at the local brewpub. Over the course of the next decade he learned how to wash kegs really well and make beer even better. Upon completing a degree in Brewing Science and Technology, Ben took on the role of lead brewer and the creative juices really began to flow.

Ben began entering competitions and quickly earned numerous awards, including gold medals at GABF and World Beer Cup. He found brewing beer to be very much a mix of science and art and enjoyed the excitement of writing new recipes. Being able to imagine a new beer and then share a glass of that creation over stories with the very people you made that beer for - well there is nothing that beats that. While Ben’s career took him to different facets of the beer industry including production, it is in the brewpub setting where his foundation began and where his heart is happiest.

Ben’s love of noting flavor profiles has extended to coffee and whiskey as well. If he does not have a beer in hand, then it is surely one of the former. When not brewing, Ben and his family spend as much time outside as possible. Together with his wife, they homeschool their three children immersing themselves in the natural world as their classroom.

Ben is excited to become part of the H Street community and explore all the area has to offer. As the dream of Henceforth, comes to fruition, Ben and Mike eagerly await the day they get to share a glass of beer with you!
